Training School for Nurses On February 4th, 1889, I will open a Training School for Nurses; the object being to make edu- cated nurses of women and girls,and prepare them for competent work either in hospital or private practice, so that skilled service can be furnished and good pay demanded. The instruction will be similar to that of the Boston Training School, and will occupy a period of three months. Those not prepared to enter at the beginning of the course, may do so later, and preceding lectures will be made up to them. Special arrangements can also be made for obstetrical teaching. This is the first Training School for Nurses established in Utah, and the instruction given embraces the best methods of teaching of the Eastern Schools, whose systems have been thoroughly investigated by the teacher. The purpose of this school is to give a wider knowledge of waiting upon the sick, and all the branches pertaining to nursing will be thorough- ly discussed in the successive terms. The second term will be held in Dr. Hughes' new residence, on First West Street. Students desiring to enter, should make application as early as possible, so that ar- rangements can be made for securing text books.
